When considering mental health, it can be useful to think of the elements that play a role in affecting it. This activity helps you identify times, people and conditions that help you cope when things get tough.

What weighs you down? What cheers you up? Thinking of our mental health and wellbeing as a balancing act can enable us to identify times, people and conditions that help us to cope and feel more settled when things get tough.

This activity is for staff or pupils and helps you think about when you prioritise your self-care and how you could do this more.

These questions could be used in class at the end of term with pupils who may struggle with the Summer or Christmas break.
