On 7th March 2019, Hugo will embark on an 18 day trek to Everest Base Camp in support of YoungMinds!
Mount Everest stands at a formidable 8,848m in the Nepalese Himalayas. Starting in Lukla, Hugo will follow in the footsteps of the Sherpa on this epic 18 day high altitude trek, before reaching the highest point at Kalapathar, a mighty 5,545m.
The trek winds through the forests of Khumbu, traversing gorges and rivers, and through quaint Sherpa villages. The peaks will grow taller with each bend in the trail. The higher Hugo will go, the harder the trek will become.
We asked Hugo why he chose to support YoungMinds on his biggest challenge yet:
"I was looking for a charity that works with young people and their mental health, but more importantly I was looking for an exciting project that the charity might have that needed funding. The 360° Schools' Community was exactly what I was looking for. I am so happy that I have set myself the fundraising challenge to raise the total amount this projects needs for a year, £35,000!"
This high altitude trek is not for the faint hearted, but the expert leaders and guides will ensure safety is a priority for Hugo and his group.
We are thrilled to have Hugo supporting YoungMinds and undertaking this utterly amazing challenge, with all the funds raised being put towards our 360° Schools’ Community.
