#HelloYellow at Weydon School
Why did you take part and how did you celebrate?
We wanted to promote World Mental Health Day and raise awareness for Weydon’s five steps to a greater wellbeing, led by our Wellbeing Ambassadors.
Staff were invited to wear yellow on the day, and they enjoyed custard creams and TUC biscuits in the staffroom at break.
In tutor time, students made yellow ribbon bands and wore badges!
Tell us about your school
We are a large secondary school, part of a multi-academy trust, based in Surrey.
We have 1,200+ students and we are a World Class school.
Why is mental health important to your school?
We believe that positive mental health and emotional wellbeing is fundamental to a student’s attainment and progress within school.
Our goal is for every student to believe in themselves, to be happy and know they belong, and are confident and successful in all they do.
Raising awareness about mental health gives each student a valuable life skill to help in everything they do in the future.
What three words describe the school best?
