Adventurer enthusiast, Alex Staniforth, will be taking on a series of fundraising challenges for YoungMinds over the next year.

Alex Staniforth

On Sunday 23rd July, Alex Staniforth is climbing his hundredth and final peak, Moel Famau in North Wales, for YoungMinds.

For the past 2 months, young adventurer Alex has been taking on his biggest journey yet. Climbing to the highest point of all 100 UK counties in 72 days, to raise awareness of young people’s mental health and funds for YoungMinds.

Everyone has their own mountain to climb and my big message…is that if you’re suffering from mental health issues, please speak out, tell someone you trust, visit the YoungMinds website and seek help. Talking about it is a sign of strength

To complete #ClimbTheUK Alex has been cycling between the highest points before walking up them… even kayaking across to the Isle of Wight before mountain biking to its’ highest point. Alex is carrying his own supplies in panniers and entirely human-powered barring any essential ferries. Hundreds of people have joined him across the UK up their local peaks or just donating flapjack on the road.

The challenges in mountaineering are nothing compared to what many young people with mental health problems are facing, so I'm glad to be raising funds for YoungMinds in the process and taking this important message to new heights.
