Hello Yellow

Join us this Hello Yellow

10 October 2025

Take part with thousands of schools, communities and companies wearing yellow this World Mental Health Day and raise money to show young people that they’re not alone with their mental health.

Right now, the world can be a tough place for children and young people to grow up in – and they are feeling the pressure. We want young people to know that they don’t have to go through this alone. Things can get better.

  • This was a brilliant day for our site. Everyone took part and had so much fun doing so with the events we had planned, icing cakes, biscuits, playing games and making a find something yellow hunt, following clues we put around the school.

How your donations make a difference

Together, Hello Yellow supporters have raised an incredible £2,168,180 since 2016. Every pound raised helps us continue to work towards creating a world where no young person feels alone with their mental health.

  • £15

Every £15 could fund a call with a Parents Helpline advisor. Our Parents Helpline provides vital advice to parents or guardians to help them support a young person who is struggling with their mental health.

  • £75

Every £75 could help train a young activist, building their confidence to speak up to influence the decisions that affect the future of young people's mental health.

  • £100

Every £100 could help us reach 4,000 people online. Young people's mental health is in crisis, which is why it's vital that we reach more people than ever before online with our resources, so we can support young people and show them that they're not alone.

FAQs for Hello Yellow

We encourage everyone to try and take part on 10 October as this is also World Mental Health Day, however you’re welcome to pick another date around this time if this is more convenient for you.

We also encourage schools in Scotland to pick an alternative date in their school calendar that works best for them to take part in Hello Yellow outside of half term.

We encourage everyone to wear yellow on Hello Yellow day, however if this isn’t your thing you’re welcome to come up with your own ways to show your support for young people’s mental health and have lots of activities and fundraising ideas in our digital fundraising pack, which you can access once you’ve signed up.

All our fundraising resources are available to download in our resources hub. Once registered, you’ll also be able to order free Hello Yellow stickers for your event, as well as other merchandise (all subject to availability).

Unfortunately, due to the high volume of Hello Yellow supporters taking part in this event every year, we are unable to send out any additional resources or promotional materials, however we do have a downloadable collection box available on our resources hub.
We have Hello Yellow stickers available for you to order for free – these are only available to order once you have completed your registration.

Our social media team try to keep posts on our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram channels related to mental health tips and information. Due to the large scale of our Hello Yellow campaign, we are therefore unfortunately unable to promote fundraising events.

We would love for you to let everyone know about your fundraising though, so please do get posting about it on social media! Tag us @youngmindsuk and use the hashtag #HelloYellow.

Thank you so much for thinking of inviting us to take part in Hello Yellow at your school. Unfortunately, we would not be able to accept your kind offer as we receive so many requests and simply do not have the resources or capacity to attend. We do however have Primary and Secondary school assembly slides about Hello Yellow available on our resources page.
