YoungMinds Fundraising Round-Up

In our last round-up blog of 2016, we congratulate and thank some of our brilliant fundraisers, shining a light on how they been supporting the work of YoungMinds.

We are so proud of and grateful for the incredible work our fundraisers do to help raise vital funds and awareness around child and young people’s mental health. We couldn’t do it without you.

Croydon High School

The annual fashion show organised by the Head Girls and Sixth Form pupils at Croydon High School was a huge success this year and the pupils chose to donate all proceeds to YoungMinds. Donations are still coming in but they have already raised over £5,000.

Everyone at YoungMinds would like to wish a massive thank you to all the Sixth formers for their astonishing efforts and amazing achievement. Thank you.

Head Girl and one of the organising team, Sophie said that:

It was a huge success with most of the girls and teachers saying it was one of the best shows they have seen. We all absolutely loved raising money for YoungMinds.”

YoungMinds is so grateful for the support of so many wonderful and inspiring schools around the UK. The awareness that Croydon High School has raised is so important and the funds will make a real difference. Thank You from YoungMinds.

Aimie Russell

At age 14, Aimie Russell has been a phenomenal fundraiser for YoungMinds. Raising awareness and donations in memory of her close friend, Aimie told us:

About 3 months ago my best friend died by suicide, in her memory I organised a charity disco. I chose YoungMinds because at Sofia's funeral the money donated was going to YoungMinds. I also did this to raise awareness of mental health and bullying.”

The fundraising disco was hugely successful, with a local DJ, a raffle and loads of fun. Not only did she promote awareness of the mental health of children and young people, she raised a massive £1,660 for YoungMinds. Asked what she enjoyed most, she said: “My favourite part about the disco was seeing all of Sofia’s friends coming together and celebrating her life.”

Thank you so much Aimie for your amazing efforts from everyone here at YoungMinds.

Mary Weathers

During this festive month, we are so grateful for dozens of our supporters donning their Santa outfits and taking part in the Santa Dash in locations across the UK. You all looked fantastic.

Mary and Diane took part in the Santa Run and raised nearly £400.00 for YoungMinds in the process. Thank you so much for going out into the cold and raising funds and awareness for our charity.

You can thank Mary and Diane as well by donating on their Just Giving page.

A massive thank you to all of our brilliant fundraisers in recent weeks and throughout 2016! This year we have had the real pleasure of supporting hundreds of inspiring individuals, groups and organisations. The awareness and funds you have raised has allowed YoungMinds to grow and help more children, young people and parents than ever before. Thank you.
