Parents Helpline Volunteer
YoungMinds Parents Helpline Service continues to be a lifeline for thousands of parents and carers worried about the mental health or emotional wellbeing of a child or young person from the ages of 0-25.
We greatly value and rely on our helpline volunteers to enable us to deliver our unique Parents Helpline service. We are looking for volunteers with:
- Good communication, interpersonal and IT skills.
- An awareness of the emotional difficulties families can face, the impact these can have on children, and the different kinds of support available.
Support for volunteers
In return for your time, you will receive over 20 hours of training with our experienced team of staff, and the opportunity to develop your telephone support skills and your understanding of children and young people's mental health and wellbeing.
We offer flexible volunteering hours and you will be able to select your desired shifts on a digitalised rota, so that it works for you and any other commitments you may have. At the end of any time you have spent on the helpline, we will ensure that you have the opportunity to debrief with our experienced staff team.
Applications to be a Parents Helpline Volunteer are currently closed.
