Wear yellow and donate £2 to YoungMinds this World Mental Health Day. Because a little yellow goes a long way.

Join thousands of schools, offices and communities on Friday 8 Oct by taking part in #HelloYellow and raising vital funds to support our work. Dig out your neon socks, custard scarf and banana hat – let’s show young people they’re not alone with their mental health!

We all struggle with how we’re feeling sometimes and it’s normal to have ups and downs. This year might have felt a little more down than up.

But it’s the little things that have got us through it – the morning walks, singing in the shower, the perfect cuppa, that Netflix show that got us all buzzing, the bestie who makes you LOL, the teacher who has your back.

Saying #HelloYellow this World Mental Health Day is a little thing we can do to make a BIG difference to young people’s mental health.

Because a little yellow goes a long way.

For schools

We know the mental health and wellbeing of your students is incredibly important to you. We also know that this year has been a stressful time and teachers are juggling a lot right now.

That’s why we’re sending every teacher their very own fundraising pack for their class. Your pack will contain bite-size mental health and wellbeing activities, stickers and other resources to make the day as special as possible.

You, your colleagues and your students have so much to be proud of. Come together and celebrate the little things we can do to look after ourselves and support each other's mental health.

For companies, clubs and community groups

We know you and the young people in your lives have been going through a difficult time, and it can be hard to feel positive. But you’re not alone. Let’s join our friends, colleagues and loved ones in a show of solidarity. By taking part in #HelloYellow, your support means YoungMinds can help even more young people and their families at a time when it’s needed most.

For individuals

Anyone can get involved in #HelloYellow, no matter who or where you are! All you need to do is wear something yellow on 8 October, take a selfie and post on social media using #HelloYellow – don’t forget to tag us @YoungMindsUK – and donate what you can to YoungMinds.

Spread the word, get your friends and families involved – and why not try throwing a #HelloYellow fundraiser too. Sign up for ideas on how to get your loved ones involved!

FAQs for #HelloYellow

We can help with a whole range of #HelloYellow enquiries. Here you’ll find the answers to some of the most frequently asked questions we receive from supporters taking part.

  • I am a school taking part in #HelloYellow. When will I receive my fundraising pack?

Schools will be sent their fundraising pack during the month of September. Please ensure you have signed up on our website and requested a postal pack by Saturday 4 September in order to receive your resources – these will be delivered towards the middle of the month.

  • I am an individual/community group/company taking part in #HelloYellow. Can I still opt in to receive a fundraising pack in the post?

Our fundraising packs are specifically designed for primary and secondary schools, so unfortunately we are not able to post packs to individuals or other groups. However, our #HelloYellow resources hub has plenty of free, downloadable materials to support your fundraising, from posters to bunting, so please do take a look.

  • Can you send us some extra fundraising resources, such as a collection pot or t-shirts?

Unfortunately, due to the high volume of #HelloYellow supporters taking part in this event every year, we are unable to send out any additional resources or promotional materials. However, our #HelloYellow resources hub has plenty of free, downloadable materials to support your fundraising, from posters to photobooth props, so please do take a look.

  • Are you able to visit our school and take an assembly?

Thank you so much for thinking of inviting us to take part in #HelloYellow at your school. Unfortunately, we would not be able to accept your kind offer as we receive so many requests and simply do not have the resources or capacity to attend. However, you can find powerpoint slides for a #HelloYellow assembly on our resources hub.

  • Can you share a post on social media about our fundraising?

Our social media team try to keep posts on our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram channels related to mental health tips and information. Due to the large scale of our #HelloYellow campaign, we are therefore unfortunately unable to promote fundraising events.

We would love for you to let everyone know about your fundraising though, so please do get posting about it on social media! Tag us @YoungMindsUK.
