Rob Ashley

We welcome our corporate place runner Rob, running for YoungMinds to raise awareness of those struggling with mental health illness and their families.

I applied through work and was awarded the place, so after the initial excitement now I am at panic and training stage.

Young Minds is a charity close to my heart after a few years ago a family friend who was a dad and grandad but suffering with mental health challenges sadly to take his own life…None of us saw it coming, none of us were ready for it, least of all his daughters and whilst we learn to deal with it, nobody will “get over it” therefore any little thing I can do to hopefully help others both in the form of education but also to provide support to those that are facing these truly awfully hard challenges is a worthwhile use of my time and energy and I can suffer a bit of pain for the cause.

I have run in several countries, in rain, snow, fog, wind and now hopefully some sunshine finally in readiness for this marathon and it is just that – a marathon!

Kingswood gets behind Rob

My employer is supporting me with their marketing team and we are a corporate supporter of Young Minds this year…So far we have done a cake baking competition, and are about to embark on a grand raffle! Check it out.

There will be a team at the London marathon on the day (including our life size mascot Squirrel) cheering me and others on.
