YoungMinds Fundraising Round-Up

In this week’s round-up blog, we congratulate and thank some of our brilliant fundraisers, shining a light on how they been supporting the work of YoungMinds.

We are so proud of and grateful for the incredible work our fundraisers do to help raise vital funds and awareness around child and young people’s mental health. We couldn’t do it without you!

Catherine and Jess

Catherine and Jess have been incredible fundraisers for YoungMinds taking on and completing seven different challenges throughout 2016! From Tough Mudder to the Colour Run, their passion and dedication for raising awareness of children and young people’s mental health has been inspiring to follow.

Catherine said that “we are so happy to be raising awareness for such an important charity!”

Everyone at YoungMinds would like to wish a massive thank you to Catherine and Jess for their amazing achievement. You too, can say thank you to them via their Just Giving page.

Every Cloud Kit

Natasza, Jessica and Rebecca, the girls behind Every Cloud Kit, have chosen to donate the profits from their November subscription stationary gift box to YoungMinds. They have been busy crowd funding for their first set of subscription boxes, you can support the girls on their website here. The girls told us:

“Every Cloud Kit is a subscription box that aims to be the silver lining to a bad day and we want to help both the people receiving the boxes and those who were suffering silently. We chose to donate our first month's profits to YoungMinds as it is a charity whose work we admire, and as young people who have experience with mental health problems we know it is vitally important that those suffering receive the support and respect they deserve. It can be hard to know what to do when someone you know is struggling with a mental health problem and we love the idea of Every Cloud Kit being sent as a gift to someone, as it is a simple way to let someone know you are thinking of them. Every Cloud Kit is all about the little acts that can make a big difference to someone’s day and ultimately if enough of those good days add up, their lives.”

Babington Group

Babington Group generously donated £340 to support YoungMinds work. Staff across the group selected YoungMinds to receive funds raised at their recent annual Communications Day where fundraising activities including a cycle challenge, hook-a-duck, and the sale of sweets and treats.

Carole Carson, Babington Group Chief Executive Officer, said:

“We are absolutely delighted to be able to support YoungMinds. It is an exceptional charity that does such a worthwhile job, supporting our young people so they can endeavour to be the very best they can be.”

Stefan Lloyd

Stefan, brought together a whole team of supporters to raise awareness of the emotional wellbeing and mental health of children and young people by walking from Newbury Park to Oxford Circus. Founder of his own SMiLE4 campaign, drawing positivity and smiles out of everyone he comes across, Stefan has become an amazing supporter of YoungMinds.

Asked what he has enjoyed most about his fundraising, Stefan said that:

“Through talking about why I am fundraising for YoungMinds, a lot of people have chosen to open up to me about their personal issues and how mental health has affected them. I believe this to be very positive as a lot of people suffer in silence so being able to listen to so many stories has given me more fire in my belly to make sure i complete the walk distance and help others feel more confident talking up about their issues.”

You can still support Stefan and his team via his Just Giving page.

THANK YOU

A massive thank you to all of our brilliant fundraisers.
