Heads Together London Marathon - Training Day
Our 2017 London Marathon runners are gearing up to raise funds and make this year's marathon a ‘mental health marathon’.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry joined a training day with more than 150 Team Heads Together runners taking part in the 2017 Virgin Money London Marathon.
Held at the Olympic Park in London, the Royal Highnesses took part in a relay race with YoungMinds and Heads Together runners. It was an incredibly fun and informative day, with runners receiving loads of helpful training, fundraising and campaigning tips.
World-record holder and three time London Marathon winner Paula Radcliffe and British 400m record holder and London Marathon regular Iwan Thomas also gave advice and encouragement to the runners on training and preparation for the big day.
Heads Together is the mental health campaign led by The Royal Foundation in partnership with YoungMinds and seven other charities. The aim of the campaign is to challenge mental health stigma and change the national conversation on mental wellbeing. Heads Together has been awarded the huge privilege of being the 2017 Virgin Money London Marathon Charity of the Year.
