We'd like to say a massive thank you to all of our brilliant fundraisers, who've recently raised money for YoungMinds.
From companies such as Hewlett-Packard Enterprise, theatre groups, schools such as Abbey Gate College, groups of friends to individuals, so many of you have been giving your time to support us. Here's a few of your inspiring stories.
Our passionate corporate supporter has been raising awareness and funds for YoungMinds through an amazing variety of events including an auction, casino event and an upcoming cycle to Cardiff Castle!
It's a yearly tradition at Hewlett-Packard Enterprise to hand over a large portion of site-wide fundraising duties to the annual batch of interns. While initially daunted, they banded together to host some highly successful events and had a lot of fun in the process.
HPE interns of years gone by have excelled when fundraising for the nominated site charity, raising some truly impressive totals. The interns are a competitive bunch, so they’re looking to leave a lasting impression by setting a new record!
The success of the charity auction was a real testament to the generosity of the HPE Bristol site. HPE staff answered the call for items in tremendous fashion, with a makeshift ground-floor auction room attracting a huge number of bidders. At the final fall of the gavel, they raised an impressive total of £540 for YoungMinds. Who would've thought that a nut cracker, handmade chess set and Welsh rubber duck would go down that well?
If you were to ask anyone who attended about the Cabot Casino event they’d tell you two things:
- It was a great success, raising over £500
- Interns do not make good jesters.
While it's true that none of the interns will be joining the Hollywood Walk of Fame any time soon, their efforts were appreciated by their colleagues nonetheless.
Charity Bike Ride to Cardiff Castle
For one of their last big fundraisers for YoungMinds, they’re aiming to champion the positive impact of aerobic exercise by making the grueling 45-mile trek to Cardiff Castle from their Bristol site by bike - that’s a lot of hill climbs, water breaks and burned calories!
So many people at Hewlett-Packard Enterprise have put in an incredible amount of effort to support our charity and we cannot thank them enough for the funds they are raising.
Team Roscoff to La Rochelle
Six seventeen year olds are cycling an epic 500km in France from Roscoff to La Rochelle! In August 2017, Harry, Archie, Tom, Ed, Robert and Benedict are crossing the channel to take on their own incredible cycling challenge. Aiming to complete the route in just four days, the team have been training for months to be ready for the distance.
Passionate nurse and supporter of children and young people’s mental health, Justine chose to raise awareness and funds by taking on a great personal challenge and kayaking 24 miles in the Lake District. Supported by friends and family, Justine has raised over £600 for our charity.
Time for Tea, the latest musical offering from Southwold Showstoppers, played to a packed house at Saint Felix School's Silcox Theatre in support of YoungMinds. The performers, the youngest amongst them just four years old, delighted the audience with their dance numbers and recitation.
Randip Hume & Karen Bradbury
On April 2nd, two teachers and amazing supporters of YoungMinds took to the streets of Manchester and ran a huge 26.2 miles in one of the UK's best and biggest races and raised over £5,000 for our charity.
Abbey Gate College
Choosing YoungMinds as their charity of the year, Abbey Gate have hosted an amazing variety of fundraising events for our charity. Getting hundreds of pupils, staff and parents all involved and behind young people’s emotional wellbeing and mental health.
