Jen - Receptionist
Phone us or email us and it’s likely you’ll get through to Jen. She’s the front of house and the first person a lot of people speak to here. She’s also the fearless leader and defender of the prized stationary cupboard.
Jen’s advice to her 16 year old self? Try to remember that no one ever hated themselves into loving themselves. Surround yourself with people you relate to, online and offline.
Fiona – Head of HR
Heading up our HR team is Fiona, who works to create a positive, enabling and listening culture at YoungMinds. She supports and helps us to achieve the very best for young people, by attracting, developing and retaining talented people across the organisation.
Fiona’s advice to her 16 year old self? Relax. You are everything you need to be.
Vicky - HR Adviser
Our current staff and our future staff all rely on Vicky – she looks after recruitment, training, policies and processes. She knows her apples too, before joining us she worked in HR for another mental health charity.
Vicky’s advice to her 16 year old self? You never really feel like a grown up. You may never actually get to meet David Bowie. And that’s ok.
Jess - HR Officer
Jess helps to support all the YoungMinds staff, enabling us to be the best we can at work, and looking out for staff wellbeing. She’s worked in HR across various sectors from finance to international development.
Jess’ advice to her 16 year old self? Be confident, have fun and worry less! Everything has a way of working out just fine.
Kim - Facilities Officer
Previously a landlady of her own pub for ten years, Kim is the one we turn to when things need fixing, sorting and replacing – an integral part in keeping the YoungMinds Office running! A fun and friendly face to see every day, she also has a passion to ring the New Year in in as many different countries as possible.
Kim’s advice for her 16 year old self? To make the most of the people closest to you because they’re not around forever
Patrick - Head of PMO
Patrick heads up our Programme Management Office at YoungMinds, giving him oversight of all the different projects we work on across the organisation. Before joining us, he managed a programme of walking festivals at the Ramblers, to get more people discovering the joys and benefits of walking and increase the charity’s membership growth.
Patrick’s advice to his 16 year old self? Nothing in life is permanent; be confident and live in this moment.
Catherine - Data and CRM Manager
Passionate about data and how it can be used in a positive way, Catherine manages our data and CRM. She leads our data strategy, ensuring that your personal data and privacy are always treated with the respect you deserve. Before joining YoungMinds, Catherine was on the data team at the British Army’s National Charity. And in a different life, she taught English as a second language in Poland and studied for a PhD in German history!
Catherine’s advice to her 16 year old self? Be open to new opportunities. You never know where you’ll end up, but if you’re willing, you can learn a lot and meet extraordinary people. And always wear sunscreen!
John – Financial Controller
John oversees the finance function and day to day financial management of YoungMinds. Previously, he worked in various senior financial management positions in the UK charity sector, as well as being an auditor specialising in charities.
John’s advice to his 16 year old self? No one really knows what they are doing; it just looks like they know.
Sally - Finance Officer
For more than 5 years, Sally’s been looking after the money coming and going out so the teams can keep up their amazing work. Sally’s experienced in plenty of sectors before charities including finance, insurance, retail, construction, local and national government.
Sumeeha - Finance Officer
Sumeeha has the vital job of assisting the Finance Director, producing management accounts and making sure everyone gets paid on time! Prior to this, she worked in a finance role at the Church of England and also in an accounting practice.
Sumeeha’s advice to her 16 year old self? Trust your instinct, it’s always right. Problems will sort themselves out and things are better then you expected.
Mide – Finance Assistant
Thanks to Mide, all our financial records are kept organised, as she’s the one who processes all our invoices, expense claims and payments. Before joining us at YoungMinds, she was busy raising her family.
Mide’s advice to her 16 year old self? Think really hard before making life-changing choices.
Rachel - Executive Assistant
Rachel plays a vital role in providing support and assistant for our Chief Executive. Before joining YoungMinds, she worked as an Executive Assistant at a higher education company in Brighton and was also once a backing dancer on Question of Sport!
