hello

#HelloYellow

Hello Yellow is our annual national campaign to show young people that they are not alone with their mental health.

We encourage schools, workplaces, clubs and community groups to wear yellow as an act of solidarity, and raise money for YoungMinds at the same time.

Despite the uncertainty over whether schools and offices would be able to take part under Covid restrictions, we had 8,025 sign up to take part.

Our tweets across the campaign reached 1.7 million people, with 100,000 people engaging with the campaign across two days.

98% of schools who took part said that taking part made a positive contribution to their young people’s mental health.

Our fundraisers

A huge thank you goes to all our fundraisers who help us make sure that no young person feels alone with their mental health. We couldn’t do it without you.

Here are just some of the brilliant things you’ve all done.

Glenn and many friends completed a two day cycle ride spanning 150 miles in memory of a young man called Jerome. Such was the impact of Jerome’s passing that an incredible £15,000 was raised and bought a whole community together.

Two amazing supporters, Sarah Wheeler and stepdaughter, Kenzie shaved their heads for mental health and raised over £1,000 – they found it liberating and emotional. We think they are very brave!!

In her own admission, Katherine is not good at running and dreads it but she still undertook a marathon for YoungMinds in memory of 4 young people in her local community raising almost £4,000 – thank you Katherine.

These three amazing boys from Uppingham school held a live stream in memory of their good friend and William’s brother, Nick and raised a fantastic £13,000. Nick never failed to put a smile on everyone’s face – the impact of his loss is devastating and evident in the over £50,000 that has been raised to date in his memory.
